The owners who dress dogs up in sweaters. Carry them in designer bags. Treat them like children.
I judged those people hard.
I judged those people hard.
But today, a friend pointed out that Lola and I were wearing
matching purple rain jackets.
Dinner conversation revolves around when and where she... ahem... pooped that day.
And I just can't help but talk to her in a teeny weeny baby voiwce.
OMG. I'm one of them.
Judge away, people. I'll be in the kitchen. Making homemade treats (with parsley to combat doggie breath!) for my puppy love. Wrapping them up in bows. And taking billions of pictures of Lola enjoying the delicious doggie treats.

I will be making these for my pup tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWhat breed is Lola? She looks just like my pup.
Hi Elaine – can't wait to hear how your pup likes them! We rescued Lola and aren't totally sure of her breed. We suspect she may be part pitbull/bulldog as well as something small like pug or frenchie. What about yours? Maybe you'll help us solve the mystery :)
DeleteThey came out great and all the dogs loved them. I gave some to my old boss, her mom, my aunt and my mom for their pups and they said the dogs were crazy for em. I just made more last night too for my pup.
DeleteSid is a 35lb pug mix, his mom is a full black pug. I got him in 2004 from a pug rescued so I thought he was a full pug but he looks like Lola. My fiance thinks he is a puggle, a beagle and pug.
Yay, so glad to hear the treats were a success in your house too. We've been told that Lola might be beagle - so that makes a ton of sense. Thanks for this info!
DeleteI wish I had a bone-shaped cookie cutter like yours, they are so cute like that! I just made some and my pup has already devoured two! I added a little molasses because my dough was pretty dry but I love the soft and slightly crunchy texture (and so does my dog!)
ReplyDeleteHi Mariel, I'm happy to hear your pooch loves the treats! Great call on the molasses - I'll try that next time. Oh - and I bought this bone cookie cutter at Sur La Table (I believe it is only $1 in store: http://www.surlatable.com/product/PRO-225276/Dog-Bone-Cookie-Cutter).
DeleteThey also sell a set of 4 doggy related cookie cutters at Walmart for $5. Great deal - also got some cute heart shaped ones there during Valentine's day.
DeleteThanks Tiffany – great to know!
DeleteGreat Recipe my pups love them! Also a great way to save money on doggie treats.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear these treats were a hit! Hope you saw my latest post – doggie donuts. These were also a huge hit in our house :)
